Whatever the service, a rapid and flexible response to customer needs is a 'given' at Synstar, across all areas of the business.  So, when the company turned its attention inwards to look at the equipment used to support its own operations, and to provde on site customer support, it called upon NRG to assist.

NRG Consulting began by conducting a survey of 10 sites, including Sysntar's Head Office in Bracknell.  All current equipment was recorded, and throughputs and type of workflow established.  The capital, service and running costs where established, with the assistance of Sysntar's Purchasing department and a cost per page obtained for each item of equipment surveyed.

'It was surprising just how much kit we had accumulated over time', said Tina Ferrari, Commercial Office Manager for Sysnstar and project leader for the internal technology change.  'We knew that we wanted to transfer to connected multi-functional devices (MFD), but the way to move from our current mixed inventory to a co-ordinated fleet of MFD's was not clear.  NRG Consulting's knowledge of how to get the best from this type of equipment was essential to the success of our transfer.'

Savings of 24% were achieved, and, in many cases, the new MFDs offered better functionality than the equipment being replaced.
