B&Q - You can do it...

'They're extremely helpful and show a real understanding of our requirements. - In the main print room at Portswood House, NRG will be saving us £100,000 over the next five years.' Post & Print Room Supervisor

NRG brings significant savings and superior quality to the UK's leading DIY retailer

When NRG was awarded the tender for the entire Kingfisher group, B&Q was among the first to take advantage of the potential benefits. Machines began to be installed in B&Q Warehouses across the country -and quickly proved their worth. Facilities Manager John Roberts was impressed with what he saw, and took the opportunity to commission a complete installation in the main print room of Portswood House, the company's central HQ building near Southampton. He finds the NRG team very responsive.'

Seamless - The installation went exactly as planned, which was vital, as John Roberts points out: 'When you have to take main machines off-line for a period, you need to know that the new system will come on stream and perform as predicted. Sure enough, at 10am on the Monday following the installation, everything worked perfectly.'

Quality - So, what are the machines like in action? The people at B&Q enjoy using them: 'They re very intelligent, good, reliable we re impressed with the quality, which is far superior to what we had before.' Penny Picken, Post & Print Room Supervisor, comments on how clean the machines are: 'With our old supplier, there was always toner everywhere, and the equipment gave off a great deal of heat.

Now, we've been able to remove all the additional ventilation and the room is much cleaner and pleasanter to work in. The machines are smarter, too, with extra functionality. I'm delighted!'

Savings - As well as being able to switch machines smoothly, B&Q was confident that they would be saving money with NRG s solution. 'Pricing, leasing agreements, copy cost is all very competitive, and the national agreement takes away the tedium of constant tendering. In the main print room at Portswood House, NRG will be saving us £100,000 over the next five years.' Following the installation at the 87,000 square feet Porstwood House, NRG machines have gone in to the latest B&Q Head Office building Link House, a 40,000 square feet facility on a nearby site.

Service - Now that the solution has been running for a while, John Roberts reports that he s very impressed with NRG s service. 'They re very proactive always there if you need them, and they don t commit to things they can t deliver.' B&Q has been in the DIY business for more than 31 years and is the UK's most successful and innovative home improvement retailer. The company employs over 28,000 people in over 300 UK stores.
