The latest in Gestetner’s range of products for high volume users, the DSm651, DSm660 and DSm675 combine multiple functions in one product, creating maximum quality output with low total cost of ownership (TCO). These highly productive and easy to use devices provide a complete range of professional finishing options, as well as copying, scanning and printing, making them an excellent option for staff in both Central Reprographic Departments (CRD’s) and the general office environment.
Sophisticated security features make the DSm651, DSm660 and DSm675 an ideal option for government bodies, financial institutes, and any other organisation with security high on the agenda. Indeed, Gestetner has achieved the highest industry standard accreditation currently available (EAL 3 accreditation) for its advanced hardware security. In addition, NT authentication prevents unauthorised access to the device and a Data Overwrite Security (DOS) kit means all previous data is overwritten on the device’s hard drive, to prevent erased documents from being retrieved from the hardware memory.
With a high resolution of 1,200 dpi, these devices produce professional results. Furthermore, they boast a first rate range of productive and professional finishing features. These include a professional book-making finisher with trimmer and folder, a z-folding unit, as well as hole-punching, stapling, collating , jog -finishing options (for easy sorting) and a cover interposer to automatically add covers to documents.
The DSm651, DSm660 and DSm675 are highly productive devices, delivering very fast print speeds ranging from 51 to 75 pages per minute (ppm). In addition, a warm-up time of 30 seconds and a first copy time of 4.2 seconds makes these devices the fastest in their class. Furthermore, they also have a capacity of 8,300 pages online and can process paper weighing from 128 to 216gsm.
“The DSm651, DSm660 and DSm675 maximise productivity and are truly the best in their class, offering fast print speeds and an excellent range of finishing options. This combined with the devices’ ease of use and efficiency, means they are the ideal solution for companies with high volume needs. Added security options on the devices make them the perfect choice for companies needing to safeguard security,“ comments Jason Thompson, Senior Product Manager, Gestetner.
Additional features such as Scan-to-Email and Scan-to-Folder bring added capability to users. Scan-to- Email allows a single or multi-page document to be scanned, saved as PDF and sent as an email attachment, providing a fast, easy and cost effective alternative to international faxing. Scan-to -Folder allows users to scan a document and send it to any folder on the computer network. Furthermore, a file format converter allows the user to convert a document into PDF or scanned images into text, further enhancing the document distribution process and user productivity.
LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) technology boosts ease of use of the device as any changes made to email address books on the server are instantly reflected on the operating panel LCD, pulling through names and addresses on all machines on the network. This eliminates the need for IT Managers to manually configure each device.
In addition, Web Image Monitor, a web-based software tool which comes pre-installed, enables the IT Manager to manage an entire fleet of devices from his desktop or from a remote location, with software only needing to be installed once. Furthermore, users benefit as they can view, print and download documents stored within the device’s document server (hard disk).
Gestetner offers a variety of software solutions designed to augment its hardware product range to help customers improve work processes, enhance efficiency and ultimately improve profitability. Its software encompasses five key areas including network print management and control, document and information management, document distribution, forms management and workflow solutions.
